Ability
Pact with the Gods. Brynhildr sacrifices herself and defeats the card on the field, without comparing numbers and without its ability triggering. Your next card enters with +3 DEF.
The myth
Brynhildr was the valkyrie who dared to overrule Óðinn: she gave victory to the warrior who deserved it rather than to the king the god had named. For that the All-Father drove the sleep-thorn into her and left her dreaming on Hindarfjall, ringed by shields and fire, sworn to wake only for a man who could not feel fear. That man was Sigurðr, who crossed the flames and split her mail with Gramr — and who then, bewitched by a cup of forgetting, betrayed her by wedding another. From love came a cold and exact revenge: Brynhildr drove the kings to kill him, laughed once at her rival's weeping, and opened her own breast with a sword to burn on his pyre, a naked blade laid between them as on their first night. She is the figure who chose ruin over a lie.
