The myth
Each dawn, two ravens leave the All-Father's shoulders and spread out across the whole world: one is Thought, the other Memory. They fly over battlefields, over the halls of kings and the roads of men, and return before midday to whisper in the one-eyed god's ear everything they have seen. No one hunts them, no one stops them, and no tale tells of their death. Yet Odin himself, who knows all things, once confessed his single fear: he fears that Thought may not return — and he fears far more that Memory may not.
