Ability
Regenerating Heads. Once per match, when it would fall, it holds the field and the card that attacked it goes to the graveyard.
The myth
Hera reared her in the mud of Lerna, beside the lake through which one descends to the dead, and reared her for one purpose alone: to kill Heracles. She was a monstrous water serpent, a single coiled body sprouting nine necks, and eight of her heads could die while the ninth would never die at all. Her breath and her blood poisoned the air. Heracles drove her from her lair with burning arrows and soon discovered the horror: every severed head returned as two. Only Iolaus's fire sealed the stumps, and the immortal head was buried, still living, beneath a stone on the road to Elaeus. The hero then steeped his arrows in the beast's gall, and believed he had won. He had not won. Forty years later that same venom would climb his skin inside a tunic and carry him to burn on the pyre of Oeta. The Hydra was the only enemy of Heracles that outlived him.
