Takamagahara

Takamagahara
Speed and evasion · 38 cards
How Takamagahara plays
Takamagahara does not win clashes by force: it wins by choosing which ones to fight. Its cards have modest attack and defence but the highest elemental bonus in the game, so its edge depends on reading the opponent’s element before playing. In exchange, it drains your hand play by play — and your hand is your clock.

Its path to victory
Its plan is not to knock down the biggest threat but to make the opponent spend two cards for every one of yours. Yokai punish the enemy hand, ninja slip out of lost fights, and samurai finish the job once there is nothing left to answer with.
It is the faction with the most abilities that avoid defeat rather than winning it: cards that return to your deck instead of dying, or come back to your hand after falling. Against Takamagahara, killing a card does not always mean removing it.
Its weakness: if the opponent ignores the element and attacks with raw numbers — Asgard’s plan — evasion arrives too late.
Signature cards
- Miyamoto Musashi (legendary) — 8 ATK / 4 DEF · Earth. the highest attack in the game: he measures his attack against the rival’s attack instead of their defence, and whoever he beats is banished from the match along with every copy of them.
- Tomoe Gozen (legendary) — 7 ATK / 5 DEF · Fire. the first time she falls she returns to your hand instead of the graveyard; and if she comes in attacking while the rival holds a single card, she takes it.
- Katō Danzō (epic) — 6 ATK / 2 DEF · Wind. the ninja: the first time he would fall, he dodges and goes back on top of your deck.
- Suiko (epic) — 5 ATK / 5 DEF · Water. exiles the human unit it defeats: out of the match for good.
The faction triangle
No faction always wins, and that is the point: Asgard's brute force breaks Takamagahara's evasion,
Takamagahara's evasion slips past Olympus' walls, and Olympus' walls hold Asgard's force. On top of
that triangle sits the elemental cycle, which can flip a losing clash.
And since decks mix factions freely, nothing forces you to play pure Takamagahara: the usual
approach is to lean on its identity and patch its holes with cards from the other two.
